Discount calculator

Find the sale price after a percentage discount, including stacked discounts and sales tax, and see exactly how much you save.

Is 30% off plus an extra 20% the same as 50% off? (It isn't.) Enter a price and discounts to see the real sale price and how much you save.

How to use this calculator

  1. Enter the original price.
  2. Enter the discount percentage.
  3. Add an extra stacked discount if there is one.
  4. Add sales tax to see the final price at the register.

How it's calculated

Sale price = price × (1 − discount ÷ 100)

Stacked discounts multiply: 30% off then 20% off is price × 0.7 × 0.8 = 56% of the price, a 44% total discount, not 50%.

Frequently asked questions

Usually on the sale price you actually pay. Manufacturer coupons can be an exception in some states.
